• Give God Just 3 Hours Monthly to Sing His Praise! Practices are Wednesday nights at 7pm, beginning Sept. 9. Pray about your involvement this year-and feel free to attend once or twice in order to "try us on for size". We usually take the last Sunday of every month off (and therefore the previous Wednesday rehearsal as well). Maybe you're only available at certain times of the year-simply discuss your situation w/Lois DiFucci and she'll give you the details!

   

• Are you or anyone you know in any kind of emotional crisis or grief over loss (of loved one, employment, mobility, independence, etc.)? We have access to trained Stephen Ministers who can journey alongside you as you face your crisis or loss. A SM is a gifted listener/encourager just for you alone, without cost, and completely confidential. Contact Pastor Dave for more information (397-1861 or email).

   

• Nearly 4 out of 5 stroke victims have no apparent warning signs…but the good news is that 80% of strokes can be prevented! Painless ultrasound screenings can help identify problems that can lead to stroke and vascular disease before it's too late. Life Line Screening will be providing a package of 4 screenings (stroke, vascular disease, heart rhythm) at Simpson United Methodist Church (Erie, 2113 Sassafras St.), Weds., Sept. 16. This package of painless tests is $139 (a screening for osteoporosis can be done for an additional $10). The entire process can be done in about an hour. • PA's Lake Erie Int'l. Coastal Cleanup…Saturday, Sept. 19, 9am to noon. What is it?...take a 1st-hand look at the kind of trash littering Lake Erie, Presque Isle Bay, and our local streams. You will also join together with volunteers from all over the world in the 24th Annual Int'l. Coastal Cleanup. Volunteers will be collecting and recording the types of trash found. 15 sites have been chosen in and around Erie by this year's cleanup partners. Doug Ebert (Erie County Health Dept. and one of our elders) is a site coordinator for upper Mill Creek to Belle Valley Church. Please plan to volunteer for the cleanup and call Doug (451-6745) for more info.
